Ages ago I was given this book as a gift and although I read bits of it at the time, only recently have I sat down and ploughed through it. Divided into WWI and WWII halves it covers the origins and development of camouflage, the people involved, etc., etc. I’d come across some of it already but was struck, especially during WWII, by the sheer scale and ambition of the teams missioned with camouflaging or creating decoys. Worth reading simply for the ingenuity of their imagination. Published by Faber and Faber.
